Applies to optional in-game purchases and virtual currency in NorthernLightsJoy experiences offered in Canada.
Optional purchases & pricing
- Some features may offer optional purchases (e.g., virtual coins, items, boosts). Purchases are not required to play unless clearly stated in-product.
- Prices are shown at checkout in the currency offered for your region (typically CAD). Applicable taxes (e.g., GST/HST/PST) may be added where required.
- If you purchase through a platform store (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play), that store may be the merchant of record and may apply its own tax and pricing rules.
Virtual coins: no cash value
Virtual coins (or similar virtual currency) are digital, non-transferable, and licensed for use only within our products. They have no cash value, are not legal tender, are not redeemable for money, and cannot be exchanged for real-world goods or services outside our products unless explicitly stated at the point of offer.
How billing is processed
- Payment may be processed by us or by a third-party payment provider/platform store. Your statement descriptor may reference NorthernLightsJoy or the platform/payment processor.
- To help prevent accidental purchases, confirm prompts may appear. If you allow a device or account to save payment credentials, future purchases may be completed without re-entering details.
- If you are a parent/guardian, you are responsible for enabling device-level purchase controls and authorizations.
Refunds, cancellations & delivery issues
- Digital goods (including virtual coins) are generally final sale once delivered/credited to your account, except where required by applicable Canadian law.
- If you purchased through a platform store, refunds are handled under that stores refund policy and process.
- We may review refund requests for issues such as: non-delivery, duplicate charges, or unauthorized purchases. We may ask for transaction details and account identifiers to investigate.
- If a purchase fails to credit, contact us promptly. Where appropriate, we will attempt to deliver the item/coins or confirm reversal by the processor.
Chargebacks & payment disputes
If you file a chargeback or payment dispute, we may pause or restrict access to affected accounts or entitlements while we investigate. If a chargeback is upheld, associated virtual items/coins may be removed and access may be limited to prevent further loss or fraud.
